The College’s Expectations for Students:

  • Monitor symptoms and remain in communication with an assigned Campus Contact Tracer* for follow-up care/resources.
  • Contact the about submitting notification to your current faculty regarding expected class absence time.
  • Provide emergency contact information to the College via .
  • Contact Student Disability Services if you wish to seek out academic accommodations.
  • Resident students reporting a positive test or probable case will be instructed to follow the Isolation/Quarantine protocols outlined by the Office of Residence Life. This may include being instructed to isolate or quarantine at a permanent home address, being relocated to designated campus isolation/quarantine housing, or being instructed to isolate/quarantine in place.
  • Do not return to the North Central College campus and/or remain isolated/quarantined until cleared by your assigned Campus Contact Tracer, based on CDC/DCHD recommendations.

Students should expect the following response from the college:

  • A Campus Contact Tracer will contact you to confirm you are receiving medical care and offer other relevant resources.
  • A Campus Contact Tracer will inquire if you have notified your local health department; if not, the Campus Contact Tracer will assist you with notification to the local health department.
  • A Campus Contact Tracer will gather information from you to initiate contact tracing.
  • A Campus Contact Tracer will inform you of the expectation to isolate/quarantine away from campus, signs and symptoms to monitor, when to seek medical care, and campus and local resources.
  • A Campus Contact Tracer will inform you that the co-chairs of the Institutional Response Team for COVID-19 will be informed.
  • A Campus Contact Tracer will follow up with you during your isolation/quarantine and provide information should questions or concerns arise.

The College’s expectations for Faculty/Staff:

  • Immediately report to the College via this form any notification from a health official regarding contact with a positive case, a presumed positive case, or the onset of COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Monitor symptoms and remain in communication with an assigned Campus Contact Tracer for follow up care/resources.
  • Contact your direct supervisor and the Office of Human Resources regarding potential work accommodations and/or expected absence from work.
  • Provide emergency contact information to the College via Merlin.
  • Work with your direct supervisor to initiate plans for continuity of instruction, responsibility and work tasks.

*A Campus Contact Tracer is a designated and appointed North Central College staff member responsible for the following: immediately identify and interview individuals with confirmed or presumed COVID-19 infections; support the isolation of confirmed or presumed cases; notify contacts of confirmed or presumed cases of their exposure, assess their level of risk and symptoms, and provide instructions for quarantining and monitoring of symptoms; assist individuals with symptoms with accessing testing and their healthcare needs; and provide ongoing resources and support as needed to all.
