Dear Cardinal Community,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently updated its guidance on mask wearing. According to the new guidance, which has been endorsed by the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD), it is recommended that everyone in DuPage County—regardless of vaccination status—wear a mask in indoor settings due to the county’s current Substantial level of COVID-19 community transmission.

Starting Monday, August 2, all members of the campus community will be required to wear masks when inside campus buildings and facilities.

Vaccines continue to be the best protection against COVID-19, including the Delta variant, and the College strongly recommends that all campus community members get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Vaccines are widely available and anyone 12 years of age or older is currently eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. If you have questions about vaccine safety or where to get vaccinated, call your primary medical provider or local community health center. Vaccine appointments are available at retail pharmacies including Walgreens, CVS and Jewel-Osco. For more information about where to get vaccinated, visit the DCHD website or your local community health department website.

The Institutional Response Team continues to review, update and modify the College’s health and safety protocols as warranted based on current guidance and the changing COVID-19 landscape in our state and region.
