Dear North Central College Campus Community,
Public health officials announced yesterday that Region 8, which includes DuPage County, has met the necessary requirements to return to Phase 4 of the state’s Restore Illinois Plan. In Phase 4, changes in College operations include the following, effective today:
- College-approved in-person events hosted by recognized student organizations, College offices, and students, faculty or staff can proceed with a maximum of 50 people in attendance or 50% of physically distanced room capacity, whichever is fewer, and only as long as face coverings are worn and physical distancing is maintained. Multiple groups may meet in the same facility if they are physically distanced and located in separate rooms.
- Students, faculty, and staff can casually gather in groups of no more than 10 individuals, where face coverings are worn and physical distancing is maintained.
- On-campus dining venues will continue to operate at 50% indoor capacity with appropriate physical distancing measures in place.
The following guidelines and expectations remain unchanged:
- Parties and unregistered events of any size are strictly prohibited as they remain high-risk activities that jeopardize the health and safety of our community.
- Members of the campus community must continue to adhere to the College’s COVID-19 health and safety measures and protocols, including: participating in surveillance testing, wearing a face covering, maintaining a safe distance from others, regularly washing hands, daily symptom tracking, and staying home when ill.
While a return to Phase 4 represents a meaningful improvement in the state’s and in our region’s COVID-19 data and trends, we must continue to remain vigilant and committed to the College’s health and safety guidelines and protocols, and hold one another accountable to the #TogetherNC pledge.
Sincerely,
