Dear North Central College Campus Community,
Governor Pritzker announced earlier today that due to the continuing rise in COVID-19 positivity rates, all Illinois regions, including Region 8 (which includes the College), will move to Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations (of Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan) starting this Friday, November 20. More information about Tier 3 measures is available here.
Guidance regarding higher education continues to allow colleges and universities to operate with in-person instruction. Therefore, in-person classes at North Central College will continue to meet as planned through Tuesday, November 24, in accordance with our existing health and safety protocols. Final exams will be conducted remotely, as previously scheduled, December 1 – 4.
However, given the governor’s announcement, effective on Friday, November 20, indoor gatherings of any size are no longer allowed (with the exception of in-person classes); and outdoor gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 10 people, and only when face coverings are worn and physical distancing is observed.
As was communicated yesterday in a message from the IRT co-chairs, we appreciate your continued adherence to the College’s health and safety policies and guidelines. We urge you to remain vigilant, not only for the health and safety of our campus community, but for the broader community, as well as for your families as we look ahead to the holiday break. We also ask that you continue to respond to and comply with directives from the College’s contact tracers—and the DuPage County Health Department’s contact tracers—by providing the necessary information needed to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
